Improvising Carla - Joanna Hines Read my full review: opinion: I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this story. There was almost a Hitchcockian feel to the book in its storyline and writing style. I can't figure out why, even days after finishing it, but this book elicited the same feelings that I had while watching the 1951 movie Strangers On A Train. Except for one scene, there wasn't graphic violence, yet the true thriller component was totally psychological. The author masterfully laid out the mystery and blurring the lines between reality and fantasy that even myself as a reader questioned what had happened. Twists and turns were plentiful and really kept the story moving.
